Privacy notice

This notice explains what Svaraswati collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We try to collect as little as we can. If anything is unclear, write to [email protected].

This website

When you ask for early access, we store your name, email, who you are (teacher, academy and so on), and, if you give them, your country and what you teach. We use them only to contact you about Svaraswati. This site doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies.

The lesson platform

• Teacher and academy accounts: name, email and sign-in details, and your academy's members and roles.
• Students and guests: the name entered when joining through an invite link. Students don't need an account.
• Lesson content: chat messages, files, whiteboards, notation, homework and practice logs that people add during and after lessons.
• Recordings: made only by staff, only after everyone has agreed on the join screen. We keep a record of that consent. Recordings are deleted after a retention period (90 days by default).
• Service records: attendance, and a log of staff actions such as muting or removing a participant, kept to run the service safely.

Live audio and video pass through our real-time media provider. They aren't stored unless a lesson is recorded. Lessons with end-to-end encryption can't be recorded.

Who processes the data

We use a small number of providers to run Svaraswati. They're listed with their locations on the sub-processors page. We don't sell personal data.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or to be removed from the early-access list, by writing to [email protected]. For lessons run by an academy, the academy decides what's kept, and we help it answer your request.
